Fortunately, this happens to be one of our favourites with the crispy exterior, chewy texture of the mochi donut with the earl grey ice cream. A perfect pairing of hot and cold.

Finally knew why the Earl Grey Bursts with Softserve [$15] is highly recommended. The mochi balls are soooooo good. It’s a good pairing between the hot mochi balls and cold softserve. Have chosen cookie butter over taro softserve as recommended by the staff and it doesn’t disappoint! It’s a pity this is the last time I can enjoy this dessert since the cafe is closing down :/

Wanted to try the Herbal Duck Confit Risotto but was told that the cafe is not serving this dish today BUT somehow saw another diner eating it so uhh.. Anyway, decided to try the Hainanese Chicken Rice Risotto [$19] instead since it is one of the recommended dishes and it is okay lo. A unique fusion but would appreciate if there is more rice 😅

I guess food with mentaiko usually don’t go wrong (except for Genki Poached Egg Udon but that’s a different story) and this dish is no exception. The Mentaiko Aglio Olio [$19] is pretty worth it with the generous servings of prawn and the Mentaiko sauce (abit spicy) goes well with the spaghetti.

Side note: Pardon the poor photography - Photos are only taken with one shot as I don’t like my food to turn from Hot/Cold > Room temp :p

Not captured: the burst of chocolatey goodness inside the fried mochi.
This is one of the few cafes which serve up consistent good food and im glad to have a final meal here before this place closes for good end of this year. I still remember the cafe first started as part of the series of brunch cafes popping up but it stood out with the amazing yeast waffles which it continued to retain and expand further into fusion meals and a quirky desserts. Hopefully the cafe will find new form somewhere else in sg!

Mochi donut is really chewy and served hot. Soft serve was not too sweet and had good consistency. Would rather order the soft serve only at $6, and not get the mochi donut as it was quite small and not so worth.

Mentaiko Salmon Pasta // Poached salmon on aglio olio with mentaiko dressing, tobiko, spring onions, seaweed and lemon

Grab your last few opportunities to enjoy favourites like this Mentaiko Aglio Olio, Hainanese Risotto, KFC & Waffles or their desserts such as the Mochi donut with soft serves before @stateland_coffeehouse closes their door for good on 31st December 2019.

A perfect example of a Japanese-Western fusion dish of pan-seared prawns, spaghetti Aglio Olio and Mentaiko sauce. Experience the burst of sweetness from 5 fresh, plump tiger prawns, coupled with the salty brininess of the popping tobiko. Toss the al dente spaghetti in an umami-filled Mentaiko sauce, sprinkled with white sesame seeds and nori strips. Though creamy, the sauce is especially delectable when it gets coated on each spaghetti strand without being too jelak.

It’s a pity to know that they are closing, so please do catch them soon, and I’d be more than happy to be jio-ed along. 😄

Second pic: Stateland Breakfast $18 ⁣

The beef bowl was pretty tasty and good, beef was grilled well and went well w the onsen egg & mushrooms. 🤤 I finished the whole bowl. Hurhur ⁣

Truffle fries was crispy & generous w truffle so no complaints there 🤪🤪 White coffee was creamy but abit thin. not the best coffee out there but nonetheless a decent cup! ⁣

Apart from its industrial interior & extremely famous desserts & croissants from its sibling company, @brotherbird_bakehouse, @stateland_coffeehouse has a pretty exciting menu as well!

My new fav would be their Mentaiko Tiger Prawn Aglio Olio ($20)! The Aglio Olio is mixed with tobiko and topped with Mentaiko sauce & additional tobiko to give you small bubbles of saltiness amidst the juicy tiger prawns & the al dente spaghetti! After a good toss & mix, each strand of spaghetti is coated perfectly with mentaiko & tobiko, without being too overpowering.

Another option you can choose is the KFC & Waffle ($18). KFC aka Korean Fried Chicken, is soy glazed chicken seated atop their cinnamon scented waffle with a side of kimchi slaw to balance the sweet and savoury with a tinge of sour! Definitely a winner!

Also, a special mention to their side of Fried Cauliflower! Dehydrated, battered and deep fried cauliflower is tossed in curry powder to give you that crunchy but healthy tasty veggie dish that you need! Even non-veggie lovers (like me) do fancy this dish quite a fair bit!

💵: $20

🤔: My friend isn't a huge fan of herbal things but she enjoyed this dish as much as I did! The duck had a crispy outer layer while the meat itself was tender. Love that there was vegetable too instead of it just being meat and the risotto. However, gotta say that the portion was kinda small for its price.

🤔: Loved the sweet potato fries, but I gotta say I'm on the fence about whether I liked the sauce or not. Portion was quite big and my friend and I could hardly finish it!

Interesting dish to try!! But after a while, it got a bit jelak to eat. The portion is pretty big though so I recommend sharing with a friend so you have space for desserts

We took the opportunity to try @stateland_coffeehouse 's Early Grey Burst with Black Sesame soft serve! It was fun and scary (cos it might just squirt into your face?!) bursting the mochi donut balls and watching the chocolate earl grey lava slowly oooze out. The crisps also added some texture to this dessert and it reminded us of kiddy breakfast cereal! We enjoyed the combination for a while but towards the end, we felt it was getting a bit too sweet for our liking. It's still worth a try though! We’ll probably try the plain mochi donut with no dangerous lava centre next!!!

Usually not a fan of cauliflower but the Curried Fried Cauliflower from Stateland Coffeehouse has completely won me over! Seasoned with curry powder and garnished with cheese flakes and spring onions, these cauliflower bits make for an addictive snack that I couldn't stop munching on! 😍 .

As far as I know, this is only available as a side dish for their Laksa Egg Benedict (good stuff, I tell you) but I sure hope that @stateland_coffeehouse will sell this on its own! 🙌

🤗 .

Featuring their Laksa Egg Benedict ($22) and Tom-Yum Pancake with Thai Basil Pork ($20) 🍽 .

The former puts a creative spin on the ubiquitous egg benedict dish with the standard toast being swapped out for their seasonal croissant 🥐 While poached eggs are still a mainstay, the dish is tszujed up with laksa hollandaise sauce and cheddar cheese 🧀, and paired with a side of curried fried cauliflower that is wonderfully seasoned with spices and oh so addictive to munch on! Left a little confused by why the croissant is a seasonal crossiant but hey when the food is great, there's no need for that many questions is there? 😂 .

As for the latter, it's definitely something novel which I have not seen anywhere else before! Here, a tom yum scented soufflé pancake 🌶🥞 lies concealed under a generous serving of Thai basil pork sauce replete with chunks of minced pork. The dish is then topped with a fried egg 🍳 and a crispy papadum. Though not as Instagrammable as the Laksa Egg Benedict, this was my favourite out of the two brunch dishes as I felt that all the elements of the dish went cohesively well together! Although the soufflé pancake wasn't as fluffy as we had hoped it would be, it was nonetheless infused with the distinctive tom yum flavour which was nicely complemented by the other Asian flavours in the dish. Delicious! 😋

Herbal duck with a fusion twist
.
The duck confit was succulent. Personally I liked the herbal flavor of the sauce. It’s nicely paired and compliments the risotto and also the addition of fried shallots provides a nice crunch to the dish

really really sinful, but also good. love the contrasting temperatures between the softserve and the fried donut. not jelak at all! kind of filling though, so have a modest dinner beforehand if you plan on having this as dessert 🤪
