The rice is slightly burned to give that added texture and fragrances to the overall taste.

My friends weren’t big fans of the pasta but I quite fancied its creamy, nutty and herby flavours. Big props to the service though! I loved our waitress, super attentive and friendly!⁣

💬 No one could vouch for the mutton fried rice 🥴 ⁣

I’d definitely be interested in trying all their funky pizzas 🍕

Ask any foodie where to find some of the best yakitori in KL, and they’ll point you towards this smoky joint in SS15. If you’ve made a reservation (which you should), you’re going to want to take a seat at the counter to watch the chef fire up skewers on the grill. Go for the classics like the Momo (chicken thigh, RM4), Negima (chicken thigh and scallion, RM5) and the Ninniku Torikawa (garlic and chicken skin, RM7). On sides, the Shimeiji Mushroom and Butter (RM12) boasts a symphony of flavours from the rich, buttery sauce and the sweet mushrooms. Cap off the meal with some sake (from RM50) to share.

This restaurant-bar on the quieter side of SS15 checks all the boxes for fun dinners with foodie friends: good service, interesting fusion dishes to share and fresh cocktails. Burppler Jamri Aizat is a big fan of the pizzas here, such as the Chilli Chicken & Pineapple Pizza (RM26) which he claims will convince you that pineapple does have a place on pizza. Burppler Joey Tin swears by the Wok Fried Pan Mee With Spicy Tuna (RM28) for its unique twist – homemade egg noodles and marinated spicy tuna that works strangely well together. Wash it all down with the nutty and chocolaty Bailey’s Balenciaga (RM38).

This plate of Wok fried pan mee with spicy tuna, may seem like fried noodles that you can get from the mamak but trust me it’s different. It has a perfect combination of the Malay and Chinese cuisine, which actually gives a perfect twist to how the appearance is.

Rata Subang serves modern contemporary Malaysian cuisines, fancy pizzas and cocktails too. If you would love to take nice photos of your food, sit near the glass windows during the day. The place is really cozy at night.
