massive portion and i loved the crispy batter! i liked that they gave sufficient sauce to coat each grain of rice. so many varieties of vege too. service was warm & space was small & homey :")

The salmon sashimi was super fresh!!! The skewers are good with beer but on its own, it’s way too salty for my liking 🙃 Also ordered the shishamo and crab cream croquette which tasted pretty decent

The stall claims to not use any MSG, but the chicken broth is naturally rich in flavour which was satisfying. While I still prefer tonkotsu broth for my ramen, this bowl is still a pleasant choice as it presents itself as a simple delicacy. A relatively small shop, but the staff were very welcoming and kind. For a 4.5 star rating on Google, I was pretty excited for Matsuri and expecting to be mindblown, though alas, there was nothing much that stood out to me in particular. Maybe I tried the wrong dish?

The Kaisendon ($24) was also quite the stellar bowl. Not really sure what are the types of sashimi included (ebi, possibly sea bass?, sea bream?, seared tuna?), I really enjoyed the sweetness of the fresh slices and the thickness of the cuts. Even though there was a very nice selection of seafood, it was simply not enough for a greedy me. While I do think you are getting your money’s worth with the quality, I just wish there was more!

Serving great value lunch, SAKEMARU Artisan Sake Hideout’s Two Cuts of Wagyu Roast Beef Bowl ($24) was real satisfying - one of the best that I had of late. Succulent, nicely marbled and slightly beefy (in the best possible way), the slices of roast beef were so well-executed. One is a leaner cut and is more cooked through (but is still tender) while the other is fattier and on the raw side (savoury and kinda melty with the slightest chew). Hard to pick a favourite as both were distinctly good. The thinly cut proteins were even better coated with their homemade sauce and a beautifully luscious yolk. Each donburi set also comes with miso soup (yay to free refills), one appetizer and customisable rice size (150g, 200g and 300g).

korean’s favorite sweet and sour taste of noodles with chef’s special gochujang sauce

the finest us prime grade minced ribs of beef, add a special soy sauce, nuts and grilled on direct fire

the best live octopus is steamed with various vegetables to keep the original taste of octopus, chewy and soft texture, served with the finest korean sesame oil squeezed every week and brought from korea by air

korean traditional beef tartare made with fresh beef using the finest sesame oil from korea and ureshii’s salt dressing

Thick ramen noodles generously crowned with spring onions, onsen egg, seaweed, and spicy minced meats. It's like Dan Dan noodles but with a Japanese twist. The noodles are incredibly slurpy and bursting with flavour. For an extra kick, add some fried garlic. Once you've savoured all the noodles, don't hesitate to request a small saucer plate of rice to mix with any leftover sauce. And here's a bonus – if you're feeling particularly hungry, you're in for a treat as they offer a free upsize on the noodles. Plus, there's a complimentary jug of cold tea on the table, perfect for quenching your thirst.

Pro tip: Arrive early to avoid the queue.
