Loads of dogs dining here. While the steak is nice, it's a bit raw and too much tendon
This is by far the best steak frites I’ve tried in SG. Steak is super tender and flavourful. Love it that they get the doneness right with such a thick fillet.
All steaks at Les Bouchons comes with free flow fries and a bowl of side salad. I’m on a diet and topped up a few dollars to change the fries to ratatouille instead.
This outlet at Rochester is far bigger than the others. We managed to get a table without reservations.
Things to take note for dinners. They only except 2 burpple vouchers even if you have 6 or more pax. Restraunt policy not found on the app. Do check before hand on corkage policy and have it documented with them eg. Email or whatsapp as it seems their restaurant owner might agree to buy a bottle free a corkage but their restaurant manager might not. They ultimately honoured the free 1 bottle corkage but the alignment internally could have been improved which would tranlate to improved customer experience.
Food wise I do think feel it is on the disappointing side. Scallops were over cook, pasta over cook, pork tomohawk was on the overcooked (hence dry) side and the vongole seemed like a healthy soup (not much taste, maybe this was the intent). Risotto felt very different, flavour was thin, sauce not consistent with certain parts abit on the watery side and the rice also didnot feel evenly cooked.
Wine list is pricy, just come mentally prepared for it.
Good parts about this place i would say is the amdience.
Service on the whole is good, except with the tension point with the restaraunt manager on the wine corkage.
Iberico pork jowl @ $38++
It's tasty but feels a little bit undercooked? Or maybe we are not used to the texture, but overall still a good dish!
Gary's signature seafood pasta @ $32++
Love the homemade pasta and very generous portion of seafood. The tomato sauce was really good with the whole dish as well!
Got this with burpple beyond deal so it's really good!
Carbonara @ $32++
This pasta is good but we wouldn't say it's extraordinary or really worth its price tag. It's a little bit on the bland side compared to the other pasta we had. Most of the flavour came from the crispy iberico pork chip.
Got this with the burpple beyond deal so it's still very worth it!
Iconic Gary's Garden Salad @ $28++
When this plate landed on our table, all we could think of the time and effort put into presenting this as it is. And wondering if we should destroy it.
But glad we did, cuz it tasted good! All the veggies were sitting on a bed of mashed potato and we think the potato is the best part of the dish.
This place has nice atmosphere and almost feels like a fine dining place while the price is slightly more affordable than an actual fine dining place. And it's even better with the burpple beyond deal. Though we would have liked the portion of this to be a little bit bigger 😅
Parmigiana @ $24++
This smelt and tasted delicious. When this was placed in front of us, we could smell the cheese and the herbs. It tasted so good as well, a good proportion of all the ingredients in it.
This place has nice atmosphere and almost feels like a fine dining place while the price is slightly more affordable than an actual fine dining place. And it's even better with the burpple beyond deal. Hope to be back again to try other items on the menu.
Cake perfect, not too sweet, with delicious chocolate oozing out of the cake when cut. The pistachio ice cream was light and a great combination with the heavier chocolate lava cake. Will cone back to dine again.
Presentation of the Tiramisu was nice, and taste was great. Hoped that there was a tad more Baileys. Their lvl 2 outdoor seating area was well decorated. Perfect for quiet lunch / dinner as a couple. Service was impeccable, as usual.
Finally had a chance to try this pretty fancy restaurant!
Their $35 3 course lunch menu consist of a starter, main and dessert. For the starters we had their Garlic Escargot and Chicken Pate. The Garlic Escargot were okay but we hoped that it can be more garlicky. The chicken pate was really rich and went well with the bread given. It can be quite surfeiting so it's best to share with others!
As for the mains we got the Angus Ribeye and Lamb Chops. The Angus Ribeye was tender and well seasoned and I loved how the compound butter added extra richness to the steak!
The lamb chops were tender and well seasoned as wdll, but the gamey flavour was quite strong. Perhaps lamb lovers will appreciate it better!
Desserts were okay, nothing much to shout out about. The food was overall alright but the ambience is definitely date night worthy!
