Farmer’s sausage served with sliced roasted potatoes and braised red cabbage. The potatoes were well-marinated and sliced to a perfect thickness. The red cabbage turns out quite refreshing and a good balance to the salty sausage 》$22

These fried button mushrooms 🍄 were lightly battered, crunchy on the outside, tender and juicy inside. Dip these mushrooms 🍄 into the dipping sauce and it is a perfect dish to go along with beer 🍻 》$12

While they have a smoked salmon rosti with poached egg under their main menu, I was delighted to see plain rösti being listed as a side on the menu 😊 The grated potatoes are pan-fried till golden brown, crispy on the outside while retaining their moisture and soft texture inside. It was a good alternative when I love all things potato yet trying to save some space for some meat 🍖, sausages 🌭 and beer 🍺 》$6

The pork knuckle was juicier with a larger cut of 🥩 compared with those of the rosti. It was quite a pleasant surprise to find that the burger 🍔 had an interesting combination of flavours not commonly found in most Singaporean foods.

Excellent meal made especially enjoyable by the warm and friendly team! Had a lovely time and will definitely come back! Pork knuckle fladen was the star of the meal!

Thought brotzeit would be able to deliver with their German classics but these fell flat. Some of the pork knuckle was crispy but most was chewy and stale, while the rosti was thick and under-done. I ended up only scraping the very top of the rosti, which was barely even crispy.

Christmas season calls for the quintessential pork knuckle, which is one of the famous dishes here at German restaurant Brotzeit. Pork Knuckle here was huge, well worth the $39. When tapping the knife on the knuckle’s exterior, you can easily tell that the skin was crisp. However, the skin was so thick and laced with fat that it fell out in a big chunk, and I could not even chew on it as it was just too huge and tough. Encased by the skin was a huge portion of chunky meat, that paired well with the sauce, sauerkraut and potato salad on the side. Do be sure to pair it with the sauce, as the meat might get overwhelmingly dry after a while. A decent pork knuckle to have and to share with a (recommended) group.

Wiener schnitzel

Veal schnitzel was soft and tender, fried with a thin batter that was not too oily. The crumbly exterior went well with the sourish jam on the side, and the potato salad we chose. Shoutout to the potato salad because it was a wonderful cold side that was delightful with its onion bits and vinegary nodes. Do note that the potato salad is soft with a mushy texture, but I liked it like that as it matched well with the fried main. I had this a year ago but I felt like this was better done that the previous time I tried, though it still gets a bit plain after a whole, considering how huge the piece was. Nonetheless, I like to jazz it up with a bit of Tabasco to give a bit of spicy and tangy kick.
