Yay! Rainy day just got a whole lot better with every sip of this popular Teochew version of garlicky, rather strong-flavoured and intensely peppery broth. The loin ribs? 🍖 Robust and meaty that are not exactly fall-off-the-bone but perfectly cooked to the desired tenderness!
And let’s not forget the thoughtful touch of having our soup refilled from a kettle throughout the meal. ❤️

Twice better than their bkt. Very fatty and unhealthy but so tender that they don't hesitate giving such large cuts.

The premium dragon ribs were sold out. Is it worth its Bib Gourmand? To me, it's pretty much an above average bkt. To top up soup here you'll have to self service.

Quite lean, balance of sweet and salty braise and rather mild

Absolutely smashing as ever. So tender and perfectly textured with strong clean umami from the dried shrimps. Not to mention they have daylily

Delicious. Well braised and full of flavour, with mushrooms as well

This was brilliant. They're the first stall I see that undercooks the innards for takeaway and separates the boiling soup for you to finish the innards in. They're all perfectly cooked once you dunk it into the hot soup for awhile

Meh. The organs weren't good enough, stick to their pork ribs

As u can tell the pork ribs portion for large isn't v big still. But the meat is about the same cos the pork ribs have less bones

Both weren't particularly tender, standards are really oscillating

This famous bak kut teh stall is also featured on Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand. which serving their signature peppery soup in Jurong East for many years.

Came in the morning and there’s already lots of people. I went for the smaller portions which still come with generous pork meats.

Dry and overcooked and not particularly generous, for a large portion
