Opting for less salt was a good choice as we get to taste the ingredients better!
Nicely grilled and melt in your mouth! Thumbs up!
The kushiyaki / skewers here are the saving grace - most, if not all, were pretty good, and I would be glad to order them again.

Although there is a short waiting time of about 15 minutes or so, the skewers are well executed and delicious.

Priced slightly higher though, so ordering a few of these will inflate the bill.

This is beautifully done, with a pancake of crisp cabbage, fluffy egg, soft wheat flour batter, and juicy oysters, all packed and pan-fried till the exterior is crisp and the interior is juicy.

Dressed with crisp nori / dried seaweed and wispy katsuobushi / bonito / fermented skipjack tuna fish flakes, each bite is a lovely burst of sweet eggy salty savoury vegetal fishy flavour.

The food looks inviting in the menu and you will feel tempted BUT be prepared for the longest most ridiculous wait for your food to arrive! Unless it is something raw and cold , like the salmon chirashi don which was the tiniest portion of chirashi I have seen , the cooked selections take 45 minutes and more to arrive!! So two people in a family had eaten their meal
While the other two waited an hour and nothing else arrived!! There were plenty of staff running around and excuses of understaffing in the kitchen . There are other Japanese outlets at GWC to explore . This one gets two thumbs down!👎👎

The shredded Japanese cucumber roll looks meh but blew my mind but how crunchy and fresh it is! Definitely not your cheaper alternative to salmon sushi🥒😂 the scallop is grilled with soya - so satisfyingly tender with each bite 😚

If you would like some quality Japanese fare, this is one place to go. Although it may be located in a very unknown area, this place has a poolside view for you to enjoy with your food!
I had a Chirashi Don ($19.80) while my friends had the Truffle Wagyu Don with Foie Gras ($35.80) and we got the premium sides (for additional $8) that has miso soup, chaiwanmushi, salmon sashimi and mochi.
The Chirashi Don itself boast quite a few ingredients from scallops to chutoro. Every piece of sashimi is really fresh and they were perfect with the freshly grated wasabi and soy sauce. To me I feel like the quality of the rice really makes or breaks a don, and I'm glad to say that the rice in this don is really something. It's not only fluffy, it's very well flavoured with the right amount of mirin. Absolutely beautiful.
I tried abit of the truffle wagyu don and I loved how crispy and smoky the beef slices were! The beef slices were tender as well and the truffle taste is noticeable. The foie gras pieces were very rich and fatty, perfect with the bed of rice below.
Definitely a good place to come for date nights 😍
