Food and atmosphere was amazing, nice place for a date or just to relax with friends! Ordered the beef, crab potato gratin and unagi which I highly recommend. Drinks were nice as well
Shukuu Izakaya’s Tochigi Wagyu A4 skewer is a must-try—super tender, buttery, and full of umami. The beef short rib skewer is just as impressive: juicy, flavourful, and grilled to perfection. Perfect spot for top-notch kushiyaki in town!
we enjoyed our dining experience here! they have a good selection of food and drinks and we had some unique dishes that we’ve never tried before! would recommend this place for a casual dinner and drinks
Came on a Sunday evening and place wasn’t that crowded. The beef with potato stew was good - hearty and comforting. Highly recommend. Minced pork cutlet was also crispy and Black cod with miso from the seasonal menu was nicely seasoned, moist and tender.
Overall nice restaurant with attentive service. Good selection of alcohol as well.
Came across this hearty Japanese restaurant on a weekend evening.
Restaurant had a chill vibe, like those you would enjoy after a long day of work.
Ordered the Gindara Misoyaki, Tako Wasabi, Gyuniku Jaga, and some Pork skewers.
Special love to the Tako Wasabi with the rich, strong wasabi taste, as well as the skewers, which were super tender and flavourful!
Highly recommended to anyone that are looking for a nice japanese restaurant that serves skewers!
Delightful to sample this 4hand k inspired 4hand collab between Meatsmith / Guum / Burnt Ends .
The pairing with a variety of Korean drinks was excellent as well .
tried oden for the first time ever here it was one of the most comforting dishes i've had! would recommend the mentaiko rosti too. restaurant was quite cosy and vibey too i kept looking at the paintings on the walls, nice place to yap and catch up with a friend :)
Shukuu Izakaya is a gem! The food is super fresh and really well prepared — you can taste the quality in every bite. The interior has a cozy, authentic vibe, and the service was warm and attentive. Great spot for a chill night out with amazing Japanese food. Will definitely be back!
This was a fun starter to have. Generous about of creamy lobster salad that was full of lobster and prawn meat as well as seasonal fruits. If you like lobster salad sushi, think of that but wayyy more decadent. Each bite was rich and decadent, a really unorthodox experience compared to your normal kueh pie tee. Would recommend to share this among four people so that each person can just have 1, because it will get kind of filling if still want to make space for the other dishes.

Xiao Ya Tou is that one place that you’ll walk past and be so intrigued by its decor that you know you have to try it. With its old school retro ambience, the space is cosy, fun, and great for gatherings. Service is both attentive and warm, and I personally think it’s a great place especially to bring your friends from far who want to have fun Asian but fusion cuisine.
The wok fried wagyu hor fun fell a bit short for me in terms of the hor fun itself. The wok hei wasn’t strong, and the flavour of the noodles itself tasted a bit bland. I did ask for their sambal to spice it up though. The wagyu beef jazzed up the hor fun a good ton, especially because it was nicely seared and well-executed till tender. A dish that’s both a hit and a miss for me.

The ambience was rustic and warm. We came here for the beef tongue, the mini donburis, the gyu don and sashimi don, the sake oysters, the gratin, the cod (seasonal item) and wasabi octopus.
I highly recommend the crab gratin and cod 🔥🔥🔥
A lively atmosphere, in my opinion great for gatherings. We reached around 7pm on a weekday night and there were a few seats left but were quickly filled. The waiting time for food was not too long and the items came one after another.
As the food portions are on the smaller side, it is nice to have a variety of them. Standout dishes for me were the Spicy Salmon Don ($11) which was creamy and fresh, with just the right amount of rice. Gindara Misoyaki ($20) which was black cod, again fresh and perfectly grilled. Didn't try the sake this time so we got Sake Oysters ($16) instead which was pretty fresh and peppery, with a sweet aftertaste of the sake.
Will come back to try the sake!
