The Tonkusen Toroniku Ramen ($22++ for small) comes with a plate of aged iberico pork cheek that is very soft and absolutely delicious. The noodles is firm and it goes really well with the savoury and flavourful kara-miso broth. Would definitely opt for medium portion next time!

A ramen restaurant by the day and modern izakaya by the night, Kiwami stands out from its peers with its wide selection of ramen, mazesoba, gyoza and drinks 🍶

🌟 Aburi Miyazaki Wagyu Tonkotsu Ramen ($22.50)
Simmered for over 10 hours, this comforting bowl of ramen with torched Miyazaki Wagyu had me drooling in no time 🥹 Apart from the rich creamy tonkotsu broth, the ramen noodles also stood out with its springy texture 🍜🫶✨

🎉PROMO🎉
Enjoy weekday lunch sets from $9.90++ only (inclusive of main, drink and gyoza)

If you’re visiting at night, make use of the free-flow booze at $38 per pax (available daily 5pm-9.30pm) 🍻

For mazesoba fans, choose from a variety of dry ramen options (including plant-based truffle mazesoba). We opted for the one with unagi ($16.90) 🍳🐟

Real deal with all the toppings - char siu, seasoned egg, and stewed pork belly. I absolutely adore the flavours of marutama’s chicken broth, especially because it’s rich and slightly on the creamier end, almost like collagen soup. Even with the spicy option, the soup remains white, yet still packs an amazing spicy punch that’s so delightful - which really makes me wonder how’d they do it? You’d think spicy ramen would mean a volcano red broth. But it does not matter since Marutama has time and time again delivered very sumptuous, spicy ramen which I enjoy.

The Iberico pork Cheek actually taste nicer with it being Aburi-ed. Like it just melted in my mouth.

The ramen noodle was el dente.

The spicy shio broth was damn good la, I prefer this to the miso soup. It was flavourful, and spiciness level was not too over-powering.

Steady dinner crowd, even after 8pm. Central gets rather quiet after 8pm. So for a restaurant to be rather full at such ulu timing, food gotta be good.

Ramen served with Iberico Pork Cheek(Toroniku).

You get to choose what flavour ramen to have, they have:

1) Shio - Mild Salt
2) Miso - Soybean
3) Shoyu- Soya Sauce
4) Kara Miso - Spicy Soybean

Selected the Miso option.

Soup was damn good, we actually finished the entire bowl. My wife preferred this.

Noodles were el dente.

Pork Cheek was tender and tasted very good.

Tender and nicely flavoured roasted pork cheek. Used to frequent the branch at Cuppage Plaza that was closed.

Ramen not as tasty as what I can remember but overall acceptable.

Following Ghib Ojisan’s YouTube video, I had to trust Japanese with their ramen recommendations right? Tried to book the Suntec outlet a week ahead but it was still fully booked (wow). Managed to get a table at Chinatown Point. This bowl of goodness is both affordable and deli! OISHII indeed. The broth is rich but not overly, suitable for local tastebuds. Don’t expect mala spiciness. It’s good enough. Will come back for other menu items!

Expected Damage: $15-$18/bowl

💬 My go to ramen place with rich and flavourful broth. Shio Ramen ($14.50++) Also ordered the Tokusen Toroniku Ramen ($23++), the pork cheeks are succulent and kind of melts in your mouth. Would probably give the aburi tokusen a try next time for more flavour.

An S$18.50 bowl of piping hot Aburi Toroniku Spicy Shio Ramen was something that I usually would not order, but I was glad that I did. The (mildly) spicy Shio broth was rich and it went well with the firm texture of the Ramen. Three slices of flame-grilled pork cheeks were just enough to make this meal feel complete, though I might want to add on more spring onions to balance the flavours.
