Poached eggs, grilled halloumi, spinach, tomato salsa, hummus, hollandaise. Okok, Abit oily, they have other better dishes.

Pork Rack, grilled baby cos, kipfler potato, bone marrow sauce. Meat is super soft, goes well with their sauce as well. Not salty.

Came here with my friend for lunch and we got the Bacon & Hash ($24), Mushroom Scramble ($17) and Sticky Date Pudding ($12).

Got the Bacon & Hash- housemade rosti, poached eggs, thick-cut bacon, wilted spinach and mushroom cream.

I love how the rosti was super crispy.
Poached egg were very plain and the sauce didn't really help.
Thick-cut bacon was less saltier then the bacon you usually get from the supermarket. However I didn't really like it as it did had a weird chemical(?) taste and was quite tough to chew.
Wilted spinach at the bottom added a good nutritional value to the dish.
Mushroom cream was quite bland and thick.

Mushroom Scramble- housemade sourdough, scrambled eggs, cauliflower, feta, crispy kale

Sourdough was nicely toasted with crispy edges.
Scrambled eggs were silky.
Cauliflower could be tastier.
Feta was ok.
Crispy kale added more texture to the dish.
Mushroom were good and earthy.

Sticky Date Pudding- banana, salted caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream

Sticky date pudding was disappointing. Pudding was like a cake. Overcooked.
Banana were evenly sliced.
Salted caramel sauce was really good. But tasted more like toffee.
Ice-cream was nice.

Overall enjoyed the mushroom Scramble and the potato Rosti. Maybe the next time round I would just get a plain rosti.

Strong brew double shot coffee; not acidic, bitter or too milky; love the latte art..

Thick & rich custard with a thin layer of crispy caramelised sugar; topped with blueberry jam & strawberry; good sweet-ending dish & best to share the calories..

Salmon fillet is well-cooked to tender; sat on top of a bed of flavorful sauteed chopped mushrooms & sweet potatoes; came with few brocoli, mustard hollandaise sauce & tomato jam; another well-executed dish worth a try..

Al-dente pasta tossed in garlic, chilli & white wine; not spicy or too oily; with 2 big fresh tiger prawn & 2 big juicy scallop which are well-grilled to mild smoky taste yet retain the moisture..

Rosti is mildly crisp outside with natural sweetness; crab meat patty made with 100% real crab meat, taste fresh with natural sweetness & no fishy taste; came with chopped crunchy mushroom at the side which balance out the taste; with a poached egg, tomato jam, mustard hollandaise sauce & a piece of rice noodle chip; love how well the ingredients complement each other; a well-executed dish worth a try..

Visited the outlet at East Coast! They had a super long queue on an early saturday afternoon. Waiting time was around 20-30mins.

Here are the items we ordered:

Bacon & Hash ($21++): This consisted of a housemade rosti, poached eggs, thick-cut bacon, wilted spinach and mushroom cream. First impression: my jaw dropped. The rosti was super burnt and chaotah?! The bacon also looked over chaotah. How disappointing it was! The rosti also was very plain tasting. We ate half of it before we decided to request for salt and black pepper, and I had to add LOTS of it to the rosti. (Sorry, I think marche’s rosti is way better!) The combination of rosti and bacon was good though. It was the saltiness of bacon which was helping to balance out the very plain tasting rosi. I liked the mushroom cream, but felt it was not enough for the whole portion of rosti. Poached eggs were nicely done.

Summer Fruits Waffles ($18++): We ordered this together with all the items we got and this was the first dish that was served haha. So it was kinda weird to eat sweet ice cream the first thing in the morning (we were there for brunch). The housemade sourdough waffle also was too crispy for me! Prefer for it to be fluffier in the interior. This waffle came with berries, cherries, housemade granola, strawberry ice cream and whipped cream.

Hot Chocolate ($6.5++): Got this because we saw everyone ordering drinks and i FOMO, but I cant take caffeine drinks either lol.

Overall, I am not super wow-ed over by the food. But nice cafe ambience, there are outdoor and indoor aircon seats.

Went to Five Oars at East Coast for brunch today & ordered the Salmon Royale ($24++) & a 6oz white ($5++). I must say that I was particularly surprised at how delicious the Salmon Royale tasted - the addition of sour pickled onions complemented the salmon, the crème fraîche’s consistency was light and just right, and to top it off, I liked how the multigrain bread had some nuts, which added texture to the dish. The avocado and scrambled eggs were decent, nothing fantastic. A suggestion I have is to replace the current veggie with rocket leaves, as I think it would add another layer of flavour to the dish. The coffee was alright too, not the best I’ve tasted.

I had asked for the housemade sourdough to be served separately. Definitely try this hack because the smoky and flavourful grilled bread tastes soooo good by itself.

Tried the Sriracha Chicken Benedict and an 8oz hot white. Sriracha was very flavourful and balanced well with the apple flannel salad, balancing out the whole dish, only gripe with it is that some parts were too burnt.
We also had the fish & chips, the house made tartar is really good, but the fish it self was a little disappointing. The batter of the fish could use more seasoning, other than that it would have been a great dish.
Furnishing of the place is great and lovely, but not a conducive environment for chats as it can get a little noisy with the amount of people around.
