Finally visited Coexist Coffee Co. at Hillview!
Took so long for us to visit this cafe outlet till they have changed out from the iconic red white layout! Now it is a grey industrial theme vibes already!
Here is what we ordered:
-Squid Ink Fried Rice ($26++): Super unique dish! Served in a claypot! There is tiger prawns, baby squid, and topped with lots of ikura! Very unique taste!
-Chilli Crab Shakshuka ($18++): Comes with a huge tempura soft shell crab, chilli crab tomato dip, fried mantou and a sous vide egg!
-Satay Quesadilla ($18++): Pulled pork satay with mozzarella and comes with peanut sauce!
My favourite is per the above order ranking! We ordered 3 dishes as we were famished after 3+ hours of discussing reno stuff prior! Say hi to the new neighbouring neighbourhood!
Organic red and brown rice, falafel of the day, red pepper, grilled pumpkin, Japanese cucumber, tofu, plum sesame sauce
Ahh I love toss and turn! Itβs one of the better salad options around my area - I prefer it over the salad fork, poke theory, and other less well-known brands. The falafel was sooo good? Crunchy, well-spiced and flavourful ππΌ The tofu was p fresh, grilled pumpkin was sweet, cucumber and red pepper was refreshing and crunchy. Plum sesame sauce was tasty too! My momβs mushrooms were juicy and earthy, was rly yummy. Portion is good too.
Delicious - but would not eat too often on account of the price ($21).
The best seller, this hand-rolled little pies are made with buttery melt-in-your-mouth pastry and filled with lightly sweetened pineapple jam π

Taste and texture-wise, its was too sugary on its own. But the luscious cinnamon cream balanced out its sweetness and made this dessert really enjoyable!
Forget about the nice views comments you see about this cafe. What views do you expect to see from an 8th floor rooftop surrounded by tall condominiums and a rainforest? Come for the food and coffee instead!
We came on a Sunday. Reservations strongly recommended as the tables are limited. We ordered Chilli Crab Shakshuka, Squid Ink Fried Rice and the Coexist Breakfast.
The Shakshuka did not disappoint. Large chunks of crab meat were mixed within the chilli sauce (more like tomato sauce with just a hint of spice). Six small slices of man tou was provided to soak up the gravy. Do remember to mix the egg into the gravy to give the whole dish extra silkiness.
Next up, the Squid Ink Fried Rice was equally good. It came with chunks of deep fried prawn meat and whole baby squids, topped with Ikura and chilli. Rice was not greasy and tasted umami from the squid ink. The Ikura added bursts of flavour and there was also a certain level of heat coming from the squid and prawns. Probably the marinate they used or the mentaiko sauce spread on the plate. But yes it did accentuate the dish. Yums!
The Coexist breakfast was normal. Nothing to sing about. I have to give special mention to their White coffee and Aero-Black cold coffee. So hot are very robust in coffee taste, the way coffee lovers like their brew. Just choose hot or cold.
Certainly coming back to try the other items on their menu, even if this cafe is a little pricier than others and it is very ulu in terms of location. If you donβt drive, then Grab will be the next best alternative.
thoroughly enjoyed this dish! with lumps of crabmeat and egg inside, it was a good pairing with the mantou - which was sliced and crisp! made with tomato base (i assume), the dish strays away from the usual chilli crab texture iβm used to but still nonetheless a good dish.
a somewhat standard brunch set to have, tho not a must order for me! the mushrooms were good tho! β¨β¨β¨
actually found this nicer than Rawβs oops like not a lot of wokhei taste and more of the squid ink?? i liked the crispy baby squid on too too! v yums with the garlic aioli but portion of this dish is too small for the price
Breakfast Burrito ($18)
Burrito filled with scrambled eggs, hash brown, chorizo and mayonnaise salsa. It filled the stomach and tasted nice but no βwowβ factor. Felt that it was a bit pricey for this!

Smoked Salmon Toast with SautΓ©ed Mushrooms ($16+$3)
Very filling portion of smoked salmon! It also came with grilled asparagus which provided a nice charred taste to the dish. The extra side of buttered mushrooms ($3) was a generous portion but it felt a tad too greasy. Overall would still recommend tho!

ICED WHITE ($5.50)
There was quite an extensive coffee menu, but I went for the classic iced white, which was refreshing and had sour notes.
ICED MOCHA ($6)
The sourness of the coffee was masked by the bitter dark chocolate. A good choice if you like deep chocolatey taste without the sweetness!
