Founded in September 2019 by Lee Syafiq, this Muslim-owned burger joint serves up delicious minced beef smash burgers, epitomised by their signature Ashes Cheese Burger.
.
Sandwiched between fluffy soft charcoal infused burger buns with bready earthy savoury flavour, is a bed of crisp lettuce with vegetal sweet flavour.
.
Stacked with dual minced beef smashed patties which are juicy tender with meaty savoury salty flavour.
.
Layered with gooey melted cheddar cheese and the creamy house sauce for added cheesy salty spice flavour, slight kick of heat.
.
Incredibly messy yet satisfying.

Went to CHC a few weeks ago and ordered the breakfast slider set meal and Dirty Taters with my friends!😄 There is a lunch promo ongoing during weekdays which is only $9.99 per set (usual price $10.90)😇 Dirty taters were $9.90.
Overall ratings 9/10! Tried the Medium spice level this time and it was pretty mild to me (tried Hot previouly and was lowkey dying)😅 The patty was super juicy and the eggs were fluffy😍 Though its a slider, its also super filling😨 Would definitely head back again to try other sliders!!
Went to CHC last week and ordered a Chix Cordon Bleu, Soul Slider, Dirty Taters, and Vanilla Milkshake! (~$45/2pax)😋 Regretted ordering the Hot for the burgers and should have just went with medium instead... It was too damn spicy even for a spicy lover😭
Overall ratings 8/10! The milkshake and dirty taters were great and would definitely ordered the burgers in medium spice next time🤧
To the surprise of absolutely nobody, @garanggrillexpress Truffle Mushroom Champ Smoked Burger ($20 + GST) was the champion of the night. The same stellar smoked beef patty was present on this burger, but the pickles & onions had been substituted for sautéed mushrooms, truffle paste & some barbecue sauce.⠀
⠀
This time, the absolutely stacked beef patty was done medium well, providing a heftier chew that activated the caveman carnivore neurons in the brain. The moreish mushrooms were superbly seasoned and sautéed, and the truffle mushroom paste on the burger was astoundingly aromatic. Unfortunately, it seems that the truffle mushroom paste on the burger was spread quite unevenly, as my dining companions found the truffle aroma to be lacking while I found it incredibly intense.⠀
⠀
Still, at just slightly over twenty bucks, this scintillating shroom burger is an absolute belter of a burger. Come to think of it, this Truffle Mushroom Champ outperforms its most of its competitors on the market by a huge margin. Once again, thank you for the invite, @thatfoodadv & @garanggrillexpress!⠀
@newubinseafood newest venture, @garanggrillexpress, sees a departure from New Ubin’s signature Mod-Singapore cuisine to burgers and grilled meats. So far, from what I’ve sampled, the grilled meats such as the steak & lamb leave much to be desired, but the burgers are downright delectable.⠀
⠀
If you’re looking for something a little extra, the Guacamole & Lime Smoked Burger ($17.50+GST) won’t do you wrong. It contains all the elements of the smoked burger, but with guac & a dash of lime added in. The guac is creamy & quite spicy, which does go well with the smoked beef patty, but the lime does obfuscate the meatiness of the burger. Also, I wish there was more of that surprisingly spicy & enjoyable guacamole on the burger. I could appreciate this Guac & Lime Smoked Burger for what it was, but burger purists might wanna skip this one.⠀

Even their basic Smoked Cheeseburger ($14 before additional GST) is rather remarkable. Garang Grill’s burgers reject the modern trend of the thin smashburger in favour of having an colossal chonker of a patty that’s done to your liking. And I was enthralled by the perfect medium rare on the patty, which gave it an incredible tenderness. It’s salted well, but the extra smokiness layered on the patty gave this burger extra depth of flavour. Slap on some American cheese for creaminess & extra saltiness, extra sour pickles for a little zing, and pile that all onto a soft square breadroll, and you have a tasty burger.⠀

Simply good! Would order again when I am near there! Thick juicy flavourful patties of genuine beef.
My favourite side (apart from fries) because of how crispy it was 🤤.
Pretty saucey from the tomato sauce, and you'd get seafood such as sotong, and clams in this. This was overall quite average, although I heard their carbonara is good!
🌟 Their smoked burger is worth a try! Request for Medium rare if you can, because the beef patty would be extremely soft and flavourful, you don't even need any other sauce to pair. The 🍟 fries are amazing btw - extremely crispy that kinda reminds you of Calbee chip fries that copies this crispiness, minus the airy-ness. Just so addictive we couldn't stop.
Buah Keluak is an acquired taste though, slightly bitter and may not be for everyone.
@newubinseafood launched a new fast-casual dining concept @garanggrillexpress, at City Gate (Beach Road), for those who are looking for a casual dining experience with grilled local and western-style food!
Smoked Burger - Truffle Mushroom Champ ($20)
Truffle flavour could be stronger, and they're slightly inconsistent in the doneness of the beef patty, with some being a good medium rare/ rare, and some being close to well-done.
