Recently been to @modcafesg and we fell in love with the cozy vibe and I especially loved their desserts and coffee 😍

Their Lava Cake ($9.90) was simply a chocolate lover's dream, as it was so rich with quality chocolate flavours! This paired well with the aromatic vanilla ice cream! I also loved the crunchy almond slices too, as they were fresh and added another dimension of texture to the lava cake.

We also tried many of their savoury main and side options, and they were all decent, but my favourite is still their Eggdrop Toast ($7). This was so similar to my favourite egg toast in Korea 😍 the scrambled eggs were done right, as it was fluffy and creamy. Flavours were on point, with a sweet and savoury combination which just works. Definitely a brunch worthy dish, which I would get with coffee.

Speaking of which, I tried a bit of my friend's Mocha ($7.90) and I loved it! I wished I could have more of it but it was dinner time 😂 Not only was it rich and chocolatey, you can still taste the aromatic coffee notes as it gets more prominent towards the end of the taste profile. Definitely would be an enjoyable cuppa. Iced Matcha ($7.9) was decent.

Definitely a cafe I will come back for, especially for their coffee and desserts. Thank you @thatfoodadv for inviting and @modcafesg for hosting us! Do note that seats are quite limited here!

- Crust was buttery and flakey crisp like Chinese bakery style.
- Filled with soft and ripened sweet bananas which weren’t too mushy 🍌
- Loved the combination of all the layers with coconut shreds that’s so fragrant giving a slight gritty texture and the roasted almonds on top!!

Super rich & fudgy, definitely my kind of brownie!

It’s been quite a while since I have been in the area so for dessert I decided to rest my feet at Tigerlily Patisserie for some cute entremets.

Encased in a light pistachio mousse, the Pistachio Marimo ($12) was a lovely nutty number. The rich, oozy, homemade pistachio praline was a solid 10 out of 10 with its fragrance and intensity. Layered with frangipane, the crispy feuilletine was also so very enjoyable as it added that delightful play of textures to the vibrant mousse ball. A tad sweet overall but not cloying at all and perfect with tea.

Red drangonfruit, Ruby peach compote, yogurt mousse, Crunchy almond feuilletine; layered withe diff flavours, very nice.

Founded by Lyn Lee and her circle of friends in 1998, this homegrown Singaporean chocolatier has since expanded across Asia.
.
While best known for their chocolate cakes, they're also among the few chocolatiers in Singapore to offer a range of hot chocolate beverages, spanning white, milk, and dark.
.
Richly smooth and beautifully velvety thick, each tall glass is a delight. The white carries buttery milky chocolatey sweet flavour, while the dark carries chocolatey bitter sweet earthy flavour.

Famous yes, but the taste test underdelivered. Ingredients include banana, crushed peanuts, grated coconut and tart. But they felt disparate. To me the highlight was how thick and real the banana filling was.

The cake had great flavor and was light and fresh, not too sweet. Wish the cake could be slightly fluffier 😜. Coffee comes only in black r white and white comes only with oat meal. Complimentary cookie

The Beehive ($15) was a pop of colour against the pastel hues of the cafe interior, with a sweet Yuzu mousse encasing (in the shape of a mini beehive, no less) filled with citrusy lemon sponge and honey parfait. Felt that the tartness and sweetness balanced each other out well and I couldn't help but take bite after bite.

Pink Guava & Pear ($13) was more mellow in appearance, and unfortunately, in taste as well. Very light in guava and pear flavour, and whatever I tasted was not to my liking. Perhaps I just don't gel with guava, so try it yourself to decide.

💡 Even though no discounts or set prices, the bakes are very reasonably priced for the quality and size!👍
📍: 350 Joo Chiat Rd, Singapore 427598
💰 : ~$10-20
⭐️ : 3.5/5

Food —— Tried their new Apple Chai Danish and Otah Danish which are both well-sized for sharing 👍 For the price starting from $4.5 for plain croissant to $6.5 ish for specials, i will say their bakes are more worth it for an afternoon tea break than cakes 😉❤️ Splurged on the seasonal cold infused tea ($7) and wowwww it’s really refreshing and always a unique blend done in-house✨

don’t mind a revisit when in the mood again, definitely know it won’t disappoint🥰
