Complimentary w alacarte banh mi

Very mild, not v sweet

It has that intensity, very sweet as authentic ones should be, but again it's missing a little sth. The flavour is not quite right

Still, better than many here

The bread is good. Crackling exterior and quite soft inside. Pate was lovely as well. Overall it's still missing a little umami, but still very good already for Singapore standards

Went to A Kitchen 2 weeks ago and ordered their Chicken & Beef Skewers, Pork & Chive Dumplings, Tin Foil La La, and their Beef Fried Rice (total ~$45 for 2 pax)😇 Overall ratings 10/10! Always loved their skewers and tried a new dish (Beef Fried Rice)! Food is good and affordable hence will definitely be back😁

Had quite an issue when trying to redeem the Burpple beyond deal in this outlet. Seen like they never had customers redeeming it before. Plus difficulty in finding this item on the menu.
Don’t forget to help yourself to pickles at the counter.

Have come across some social media posts that have mentioned about this particularly new stall named Bak Bak Bak Chor Mee 肉肉肉脞面 that had recently sprouted up at the FoodLoft coffeeshop at Blk 721 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 recently — for those whom are not particularly familiar with the area, this is the same coffeeshop that houses stalls such as Buk Chang Dong (BCD) Soon Tofu, Daily Green 吉祥素 and El Carbon; other notable stalls that have since become defunct that used to operate in the same coffeeshop includes Sambae and Meng Meng Roasted Duck 阿明帝皇鸭. Bak Bak Bak Chor Mee can be found occupying one corner stall unit that is behind the outlet of El Carbon there and beside Donburi no Tatsujin; itself bearing a lit signboard featuring a wooden gradient and its various offerings occupying the space around the logo. The logo is interestingly consist of a pig head-shaped design that is filled with the name of the establishment — all against a gold background. Turns out, Bak Bak Bak Chor Mee is an establishment by the same folks behind the now-defunct Sure Come Back Wanton Mee (and quite obviously so from the buzzers that are issued when one makes an order); these would also be the same folks behind the now-defunct Super Supper, Reimondo Seafood Congee, and Crabmeat Wanton Mee. The menu of Bak Bak Bak Chor Mee is fairly simple; being a stall that is focused on their own version of minced meat noodles, Bak Bak Bak Chor Mee offers its minced meat noodle creation in three (3) different sizes — the Small Bowl, Standard Bowl and the Song Song Bowl. There is only one item that is being served as a side — whilst unnamed, the illustration of the item on the menu does make it fairly clear that it is a chicken wing dish.

Amongst the three (3) different sizes of noodles offered; only the Standard Bowl and the Song Song Bowl comes with all elements that Bak Bak Bak Chor Mee has to offer for their version of the minced meat noodle — the only difference between the two would be how the Song Song Bowl comes with a larger portion of noodles and ingredients and also with a double-layered meatball not seen in the Standard Bowl. Bak Bak Bak Chor Mee offers their minced meat noodles in both dry and soup options, while patrons can get to choose between three (3) noodle types; Mee Pok, Mee Kia and Kway Teow. Bak Bak Bak Chor Mee does not describe on the various elements that goes into their rendition of the minced meat noodles, though it does seem that their minced meat noodles is a modern take of the traditional dish that we have gotten used to from other minced meat noodle stalls around — apart from the usual minced meat, meatballs, and pork slices, we had also managed to find a piece of smoked pork belly; there are also beansprouts, while the mix of sauce seems to include the use of a Lao Gan Ma-esque chili that makes it significantly different from the usual mix of vinegar, dark sauce and chili. A bowl of soup also accompanies the dry variant of the bowl of noodles on the side. Giving everything a good toss, the noodles are done to quite a good texture — pretty much springy and bouncy. Considering how there is a difference in the sauce mix here as compared to other stalls serving up the more traditional version of the minced meat noodles, there is a noticeable smoky and savoury note that typically comes with Lao Gan Ma-esque chili which also feature a kick of spiciness from the back of the tongue — something which we found quite appetising. The slice of bacon does seem to be cooked no differently from the other pork items such as that of the minced meat and meatballs; carried an interesting savoury touch without being absolutely salty when compared to that of the likes of grilled bacon — likely an addition made for a unique touch whilst also a seemingly a replacement to the usual crispy pork lard that one would find in a standard bowl of minced meat noodles. Items like the minced meat and meatballs were good to have; the sliced pork not requiring much effort to chew (especially considered how they seem to be sliced rather thinly like shabu shabu slices), and the minced pork and sliced pork were also void from any undesirable porky stench.

They did seem to be particularly generous in the addition of beansprouts in their version of the minced meat noodles; these worked well for us considering how we are folks whom like beansprouts — the addition providing an element of crunch for a textural contrast. The bowl of soup on the side came with a distinct savoury note — one that can be associated with the breaking down of the minced meat that is being simmered with the soup, while the inclusion of coriander provides a contrasting flavour to keep things refreshing; the soup also being pretty clean-tasting apart from the savoury notes that it carried. We also tried one of the chicken wing that they have to offer and we did find the execution of the chicken wing to be rather unique — the chicken wing is only prepared upon order; it had a lightly crisp exterior that is more oven-roasted than it is being fried, and the meat was all tender and juicy with a herbal note of flavours that made it rather interesting. The only qualm was the chicken wing being a tad oily; perhaps draining away the oil a bit before it is being served would help things a little. Overall, Bak Bak Bak Chor Mee serves up a rendition of the minced meat noodles that is rather atypical of the usual ones that we tend to come across from hawker centre / food court / coffeeshop stalls elsewhere — they do a pretty modernised version of the dish that somehow still stays true to its roots to be identified as a bowl of minced meat noodles, though with their unique touch. We actually found the entire bowl of noodles to be very well-executed, and the Standard Bowl at $5.50 would feed one pretty well; the Song Song Bowl priced at $8.50 would likely work well for those with larger appetites considering how it comes with all the same elements but with larger portions in general — all with a double-layered meatball that is not included in the Standard Bowl. Considering the difference that Bak Bak Bak Chor Mee is bringing to the minced meat noodles that us local are all too familiar with, this is one spot that should be added to the list of places to try to see what they are all about!
