can always count on lil’s taproom to add innovative twists to cheese toasts. previously loved their spinach grilled cheese, so i was very excited for this. it encompassed black ssm century egg cream, blue cheese and mozzarella. now BEFORE you completely reject this combi, it’s actually not that pungent!! in fact, it’s one of my fav cheese toasts to date🧀🥪

I’ve always been a fan of their thick cut fries🍟 so this impressed me too! You can taste the sweetness of red wine🍷 in the truffle gravy. Loved that the usual parmesan is replaced with childhood fav Laughing Cow☺️👧🏻

We’re back at Lil’s Taproom again to try out their newest menu: their 𝗛𝗮𝗺𝘀𝘂𝗽 𝗖𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘃𝟮, 𝗢𝗿𝗵 𝗟𝘂𝗹𝘂! 🖤 With funky and interesting combinations of local flavours on western foods - and being impressed by their creations last time, we were so eager to dig in! 🙇🏻‍♂️🙇🏻‍♀️

This was already a solid American cheeseburger made from 𝙬𝙖𝙜𝙮𝙪 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙛, the crispiest bacon and delicious cheese. The beef patty was so incredibly juicy! 🤌🏻 They combined 𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙖 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙗𝙪𝙖𝙝 𝙠𝙚𝙡𝙪𝙖𝙠, a spice used in Peranakan cuisine, to confer a slightly bitter and earthy taste which we liked 🫶🏻

Not to be mistaken for a sardine-filled puff, their rendition consists of sardine chunks added to a 𝙨𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙙 𝙞𝙣𝙠-𝙞𝙣𝙛𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙨𝙖𝙪𝙘𝙚 coated over hand cut fries. The sauce here packed a 𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙮 𝙥𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙝 🥵 that brought the crispy and fluffy fries to the next level!

Don’t be fooled by how it looks - the black chicken, which tasted strongly like 𝙗𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙗𝙖𝙡 𝙨𝙤𝙪𝙥, was marinated and deep fried to a perfection, preserving it’s 𝙢𝙤𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙟𝙪𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 inside! 🤯 The herbal 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙘 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚 helped balance the oiliness of fried chicken - making the dish not too heavy 👍🏻👍🏻

Lil’s Taproom’s new menu is definitely 𝙤𝙧𝙝-𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 🖤🤭 🙌🏻 Once again, we were thoroughly impressed by their R&D, and we can’t wait to be back. We def recommend coming down and trying their new menu for yourself! ☝🏻

i rly liked the combination of different cheeses, spinach, and spices! it makes the cheese less jelak and is actl q comforting. the texture of the cheese is q fluffy too. it’s q different from the usual grilled cheese you get so i think it’s worth a try! the sourdough bread did get hard after a while but that’s expected of sourdough
