Seeing the "Ampang" wrongly drew me away from other more interesting stalls. Although it has ramen, the gravy and items were very average. No more!

Established by Afandi Ahmad in 1967, this heritage stall is now run by the 2nd generation.
.
The ingredients are standard, chewy soft yellow egg noodles, crisp bean sprouts, spongy tofu puffs, bouncy hard boiled chicken egg, and crisp green chili, resulting in grainy sweet vegetal savoury eggy spice flavour.
.
But the star is their gravy, thick, chunky, and viscous, made with a base of mashed sweet potato, fermented soy bean paste, dried shrimp, lime juice, and spices; with the addition of unique ingredients including mutton and flower crab.
.
The result is an addictive sweet savoury earthy nutty spice flavour to the gravy, comforting and filling.

With poached chicken and baby spinach. I thought such chains are for quick meals but the portion's substantial. Not bad!

With poached chicken and sous vide egg. I thought such chains are for quick meals but the portion's substantial. The gochujang flavour was also nice.

The 1-for-1 set meal for 2 pax was so value-for-money. For $23.80, we each got a main, drink and dessert.

Ordered the Garlic Chicken Rice Bowl, Green Curry, Thai Green Milk Tea, Gula Melaka Tea Latte, Milo Shibuya Toast and Triple Dip Golden Toast.

Thanks to this app for always introducing new meal options to me!
