Using my burpple beyond deals, cold dish 1 for 1, their lotus roots is refreshing and a bit spicy.
Coconut chicken is so worth of the money, 1 pot of coconut water soup base and 1 whole Kampong chicken around $50, can feed 4 person+2 kids. Recommend corn and veggie platter for coconut soup. Can taste the fresh.
No-frill, mass-market buffet that combines steamboat, grill, lok lok, ma la tang, ma la xiang guo and cooked food. I'm a simple man so I ordered only the stuff I like.

Yet another bad experience 😥 We went to Thirteen BBQ Bar in search of good Chinese BBQ but they just fell short of expectations...
Firstly, there was alot of confusion. Confusion in making the order between us and the waiter, and confusion in the kitchen in executing those orders. Food went to the wrong tables and some items didn't come. I tried to tell them our rice didn't come but they ended up double charging for the rice when the bill came 🥲
Secondly, food was just churning out too slowly. The food items came out with too long intervals and we were mostly waiting. We ended up frustrated and told the waiter to pack the rest of the unfinished orders to go. Saw another table that did the same too...
Thirdly, the food was mostly mediocre. The skewers were really small and tough. Only the fried noodles ($8) was worth a mention. The noodles had a good texture, it was flavourful and well stir-fried due to the slight smoky aroma in the noodles.
The staff were indeed apologetic, but I think there is really a need to relook at their processes. They have the potential to be better!
Stumbled upon this shop with a really interesting storefront, that if you go at night you’d probably get a glimpse of Japan with the whole JDM initial D vibe. The store does not seem to have proper meals, but they do have a good selection of bites. While I came in just wanting a drink, seeing how there was a namesake item on their menu, I had to try it. It was a crispy deep fried tofu with their special chilli dressing. This chilli was on the slightly watery side, but was delightfully spicy, tangy, and just a bit sweet. I quite enjoyed it as a bar snack, but above all, I think I’ll come back for the really nice and chill vibes.

Tze Char Dinner Meal at Lai Huat Signatures!
My third time having tze char from here! Ordered the below dishes
-Fried Prawn Paste Chicken Wings (8 for $12)
-Fried Beehoon ($6)
-Black Bean Sauce Hor Fan ($6)
-Sambal Fried Rice ($6)
-Hokkien Mee ($6)
I like that the prices for this tze char is still kinda affordable! There are other tze char stalls around that charge at least $8 nowadays!
Favourite item was the prawn paste chicken wings for sure! Fried Beehoon had much wokhey taste too! Was sad that the black bean sauce hor fan didnt have the option of all fish slices only. Sambal fried rice was not spicy at all though. Hokkien Mee did not use the flat type of noodle, but was the rounded yellow noodle (which I dont really like, so I did not eat this heh)
But still an affordable option for tze char if you are around this area! Best of all, no long queue!
Featured here is the 8 pax portion for $388 (price I thought was slightly expensive, but oh well CNY reunion dinner pricing. Some misses but mostly hits for their food items)
1. Prosperous Yu-Sheng with abalone: i was kinda appalled by the small amount of lohei veg given, it seems like 1/3 of usual size no? (But is ok doesnt matter to me coz i dont eat those veg anw)We added 2 packets of smoked salmon ourselves hehe
2. Signatures Sambal Fish: Lai Huat is actually famous for this dish! It was also my first time eating such a fried sambal fish, and I must say it was good! Though I thought the fried fish was slightly too dry/hard, but the sambal chilli was super good. Best to eat with rice! Our family cooked some white rice to accompany this dish
3. Fishmaw with crabmeat stock
4. Spinach with abalone
5. Emperor Chicken
6. Poached Live Prawns: I thought the prawns wasnt really fresh, and also maybe because the prawn was cooled down already so not as nice as eating it hot
7. Ee Fu Noodles Canto Style: Woah this was the first time I attacked! Good thing about eating it at home is I ate it BUFFET STYLE. lol i always dont unds why restaurants serve noodle / rice as the last dish (just like wedding reception), when I like to eat it with the rest of the dishes. This ee fu noodles had omelette egg and shredded carrots in it too, not only mushrooms!
8. Dessert: Ai Yu Bing Jelly with longan. While cold and refreshing, the lemon juice was way too sour for me. I ended up pouring away the lime juice just to eat the jelly haha
Includes Korean BBQ, Steamboat, Mala Tang, Mala Xiang Guo, Mala Stick & Lok Lok 😋
。
The one that impressed me the most was their wide selection of marinated premium meats like sliced beef, pork, chicken and even mutton. The quality of meat was excellent and also well-marinated. They also have seafood options such as prawns, scallops, mussels and clams.
。
On the other hand as for their steamboat broths (Chicken, Tomato & Mala), they didn't stand out and were rather bland for me. Seems like they didn't use any MSG as I wasn't thirsty at all throughout the 2hrs buffet.
。
Lastly, I wished there were ice-cream too to end off the buffet dinner on a sweet note.
From 1 to 8 February, they are running a 1 for 1 promotion for their signature burgers with four flavours that you can choose from. We sampled both the Cheeseburger ($12) and Teriyaki Pork Shabu ($10), with an additional top up of $4 for a side of fries and the portion was generous and fulfilling. The former comes with a thick patty made with a blend of beef, pork and bacon, sandwiched between a garlic butter toasted bun that’s stacked with lettuce, tomatoes and onions. The indulgence doesn’t stop there as a slice of cheddar cheese is torched on top of the patty with nacho cheese and mayonnaise overflowing out from the burger. As for the latter, a substantial portion of pork shabu that has been pan seared in a homemade teriyaki sauce, is constructed with the burger bun. To pair with your burgers, Quick Fix Bistro & Bar is having a promotion of 1 for 1 full pint beer for $12 and 3 Soju for $30 before 8:00pm at the moment.
