[JOO CHIAT, SINGAPORE] I think many people probably had @tomocafesg cloud coffee or eispanner, but I'm happy to share that their Tonkatsu Sando ($20) is a joy to have as well!

I was very pleasantly surprised by how crispy the crust was, and how tender the meat was as well 😍 the tonkatsu cutlet came pretty thick and massive, and it gave a good snap biting through it. It was not dry at all too! The tonkatsu itself was already better than many of the local speciality tonkatsu shops I've went 🀯 2 pieces of soft buttery broiche bread sandwiched the tonkatsu, and I really loved the tangy sauce used! Fries were great, though nothing much to shout too much about.

What's even better is that you can use Grab DineOut discounts here! Had a 15% discount which made my brunch more worthwhile πŸ˜‹

Established by founder Aston Soon in October 2005, this casual steakhouse serves hearty Western dishes at reasonable prices.
.
Their cut is from the lamb loin, with 3 bone-in slabs grilled till medium well doneness.
.
Chunky with a firm juicy chew and smoky meaty savoury salty flavour, with a good burst of taste from the silvers of fat.
.
The side of fresh garden salad (lettuce, purple cabbage, carrots, cherry tomato, kewpie mayonnaise) is crisp and juicy, with bright vegetal sweet milky flavour.
.
The side of crunchy chilled potato salad is satisfying with starchy sweet savoury earthy flavour.

everyone talks about the steak but have you tried the SPICY LAMB SAUSAGE ($24.90 - 3x100g)??? so damn juicy and i dont even like lamb but i was head over heels for this. not forgetting the unlimited homemade fries that we shamelessly ordered two bowls more

($20) w add on plain tater tots ($2) but I felt that their burger is nt that bad in terms of heat temperature well controlled. Tater tots was slightly overcooked instead already.

($8) it's quite nice tbh as hojicha + black sesame fusion was quite interesting tbh. My friend recommended this over from matcha. But I felt that it's quite thick texture for cream tbh. Got strong black sesame and hojicha fusion taste. πŸ‘

The sauce is sublime. It's quite sweet, very intense, and there's a strong fruitiness to it. Not sure how they achieved it, but it's miles ahead of your average tomato sauce

Worth a try if you're nearby

The oxtail is extremely tender. The sauce is meh tho, it's not umami enough nor thick enough, abit too sweet

Overall a good version, but the place is damn ulu so it's really not worth the journey under the sun at all

Serving some creative concoctions of coffee and refreshing fresca, @tomocafesg , a Japanese style cafe, with outlets in Joo Chiat and Neil Road is definitely worth checking out.

Some popular choices of coffee from the ToMo Cloud Coffee series include the iced kuro goma coffee featuring black sesame dairy-free cream, or the matcha/houjicha selection that includes the iced matcha strawberry cloud latte. I decided to go for the iced honeycomb latte from the ToMo signature, which I enjoyed extremely. It might, though, come across slightly sweet with hints of brown, buttery, caramelic notes, somewhat akin to toffee. Served with a shot of espresso, it was a perfect blend for people like me who doesn’t enjoy strong coffee shots, as the generous honeycomb chunks balanced the robust coffee really well.

If you like some interesting coffee creations, @tomocafesg is one good place to go for. With a huge selection of both espresso and non-espresso drinks, we settled on an Iced Kuro Goma Coffee ($8) and an Iced Honeycomb Latte ($7).

The Iced Kuro Goma Coffee came in a beautiful form, with thick luxurious looking Goma cream on top of the latte. The cream itself was savoury and had aromatic rich flavours of black sesame. I loved how the savoury and nutty flavour of the cream complemented the bold aromatic flavour of the coffee so well! This is one coffee worth sipping for.

The Iced Honeycomb Latte was also delicious, as the subtle caramelised notes of the dalgona gave the coffee further depth! Do remember to take out some towards the middle of your drinking experience as it can get quite sweet towards the end πŸ˜‚

Definitely coming back to try more coffee variations!

Back loin ribs seasoned with secret dry rub and mopped with homemade bbq sauce then smoked in-house with a blend of mesquite and hickory wood chips imported from the US.

This restaurant with old-school bar vibes serves really good hickory-smoked pork ribs with sweet-smoky BBQ sauce. The ribs were tender and fall off the bone. My order came with two sides and I chose fries and (real) onion rings to go along with my ribs $33 Β½ Slab + $3 Onion Rings
