Nice dim sum, but can skip porridge. Eatigo
This was a fun starter to have. Generous about of creamy lobster salad that was full of lobster and prawn meat as well as seasonal fruits. If you like lobster salad sushi, think of that but wayyy more decadent. Each bite was rich and decadent, a really unorthodox experience compared to your normal kueh pie tee. Would recommend to share this among four people so that each person can just have 1, because it will get kind of filling if still want to make space for the other dishes.

Xiao Ya Tou is that one place that you’ll walk past and be so intrigued by its decor that you know you have to try it. With its old school retro ambience, the space is cosy, fun, and great for gatherings. Service is both attentive and warm, and I personally think it’s a great place especially to bring your friends from far who want to have fun Asian but fusion cuisine.
The wok fried wagyu hor fun fell a bit short for me in terms of the hor fun itself. The wok hei wasn’t strong, and the flavour of the noodles itself tasted a bit bland. I did ask for their sambal to spice it up though. The wagyu beef jazzed up the hor fun a good ton, especially because it was nicely seared and well-executed till tender. A dish that’s both a hit and a miss for me.

Don’t miss Peony Jade’s Splendours of Serpentine Festive Feasts this Lunar New Year celebration!
From now to 12 February, this festive menu brings together luxurious flavors and traditional dishes with a twist. The standout is their serpent-themed yusheng, packed with premium ingredients like lobster carpaccio, Australian abalone, and fresh salmon—a true feast for the eyes and the palate. Highlights include poon cai, a hearty 18-treasure hotpot that’s as flavorful as it is festive, the roasted pi-pa duck marinated with aged orange peel for an irresistible, aromatic crunch and the steamed live soon hock fish symbolizing abundance.
For dessert, the baked orh ni mochi nian gao cake and the adorable lucky fortune cat bao with custard bird's nest are the perfect finishing touches to your hearty meal at Peony Jade.
Saw that they were having a $9.90 promotion for their claypot dishes so we decided to try. The Sesame Oil Chicken Claypot (u.p.$19.80) was filled with tender chunks of chicken smothered in a tasty sesame oil sauce. This more of a sharing dish so don't forget some bowls of rice to mop up the sauce with! We also got the Crispy Sesame Shredded Potatoes ($15.80), but it did not hit our expectations. Tasted so similar to the jagabee potato sticks, except greasier. Although the portion was huge, this was not worth the price.
Halal Chinese Xinjiang restaurant?! 👀 Head over to Restaurant Aisyah on Arab Street, famed for its handmade pulled noodles and tender braised mutton! #BurppleBeyond members, enjoy 20% off when you order any two noodle dishes.
Must-try: The Spicy Dry Beef Noodles — perfect for spice lovers! These noodles are a steal, especially with leek leaves adding extra flavour and a fiery kick. And don’t miss the Chili Oil Dumplings! These generously filled, thin-skinned dumplings come with your choice of chicken, beef, or mutton.
