If you are near the one-north area, this is one decent place to consider for a more upscale dining experience. We had a selection of dishes and here are my favourites:

Signature Classic Roast Duck (whole - $58.80): I can see why this is their signature, as the sauce here was fantastic. It had a nice blend of sweet and savoury flavours, coupled with strong herbal notes. This is one sauce I wanna mop up with rice! The duck itself was tender, the skin was crispy but my only gripe was that it was rather skinny, so most parts didn't have much meat.

Speciality Pineapple Prawns ($32): it came with a nice presentation and it tasted as good as it looked. The plump prawns were drenched in a sweet sauce that was pretty refreshing!

Dual Style Hor Fun ($16.80): the hor fun noodles were silky smooth and had a nice bite! Loved that it had the wok hei flavour too. The fried hor fun noodles were also fresh and the crispy texture went so well with the silky noodles.

The rest of the dishes were decent at best. Thank you @burpple for inviting and thank you @wokpalacesg for the food!

Wok Master at City Square Mall has been the fam-bam's go-to dining spot since I was introduced to it during a #burpple #eatup.

Wok Palace at Fusionopolis is their more up-market sister restaurant. I was therefore really excited to check them out at this week's #eatup.

Their dual-style hor fun was rather interesting as it comes topped with deep fried rice noodle strips which were nice and crunchy. The hor fun themselves had a nice hint of wokhei. I enjoyed the savoury gravy and the dish came with a generous amount of prawns and lala.

Its a humble but well executed dish which I wouldn't mind repeating on my next visit!

P.s. Special thanks to the folks from Burpple and Wok Palace for hosting us!

Has been to SuuKee Coffee some time back when they had just opened theirs doors — fast forward things to now, and SuuKee Coffee does seem to be doing fairly well as it enters it first anniversary of its operations. A spot that is known for putting effort in the making of their dishes to distinguish themselves in the saturated F&B scene here, one thing that is fairly known about SuuKee Coffee is how they have sourced their coffee directly from Malaysia for their Signature White Kopi, with themselves being in the know of how the coffee beans were being roasted by the supplier. It does seem that SuuKee Coffee has not been resting on their laurels ever since they have stabilised their operations — they had recently launched their new Orh Nee Toast with Coconut Cream as well as a Orh Nee Iced Kopi / Tea that would likely attract the attention of those whom are into yam-based creations.

SuuKee Coffee had fine tuned its operations and the toast bar is now located in an area away from the main food preparation area — orders for their toast are taken at the usual counter but patrons would be required to pass the order chit to the staff manning the toast bar and wait for their orders to be ready for collection. The Orh Nee Toast with Coconut Cream is not too different from their regular Kaya Butter Toast — SuuKee Coffee uses white bread with the skin totally trimmed off for their toss items; the obvious difference with the Orh Nee Toast with Coconut Cream being the inclusion of the house-made yam paste and coconut cream that replaces the butter and Pandan-infused coconut jam. The white bread is toasted a crisp on the surface here but still maintains a soft, light and fluffy texture inside — the yam paste carries a slight earthiness with very soft chunks of yam that provides a bit of a contrast in terms of texture; the addition of coconut cream adding a bit of a creamy sweetness that add a bit of richness without totally overwhelming the yam paste. Patrons can also opt for the addition of crushed peanuts for an additional cost of $0.20 though we skipped out on the option. Whilst not an entirely new take on the classic Hainanese breakfast, the Orh Nee Toast with Coconut Cream from SuuKee Coffee is one that yam lovers should try out at least once to see what the item is all about.

If you work around the area in one north and love your orh nee, @suukeecoffeesg is one place to have a hearty breakfast! With their unique Orh Nee Toast Set ($6.70), my morning was energized 😍

The toast came slightly crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, and they were filled with a hearty amount of yam paste. It was not too sweet, and although the yam flavour was light, it was rich and aromatic from the coconut milk within. I love how it was really smooth and that no artificial flavours nor colouring was used! This was perfect with their soft boiled eggs, as the sweet and savoury flavours complemented well.

As for the drink, I got the Kopi Siew Dai, which had the right amount of sweetness. The coffee was decent and definitely really strong!

Definitely a breakfast option I will consider around 😍

If you love your minced meat noodles and your pork liver, Dong Xue Minipot Noodle got you covered with their quality dishes!

I have eaten their Minipot noodles and their mini steamboat sets before, but their minced meat noodles ($5.50) really won me over completely, especially their pork liver. It was very fresh with little to no pork odour and it was a wonderful al dente texture that is just superior to the grainy kind I am used to. It was also not tough, which means that it was cooked perfectly and not overcooked. Even the sliced pork was very tender.

They do their noodles well too, as their mee pok had an al dente texture, with a good coating of savoury chilli sauce that wasn't too spicy nor too salty. The alkaline taste was quite faint as well!

The soup is decent as well as it was flavoured by the pork liver and probably pork bones.

Honestly, this is probably one of the best minced meat noodles I've had, considering that it ticked the check boxes for all items served. I actually don't mind eating from their stall every week for work lunches!

You are, the only exception, you are, the only exception.
For breaking the no eating in car rule. There will be serious regrets if you do not consume these triple friend fries on the spot. It should probably be a crime. Hands down.. the best IMO there is. Ok, something happened to their truffle oil recently and its a little off compared to before, but they are still 💯 (ok minus 5 for fairness)

Their burgers are also 🔥. For the same hefty price as 5 guys (how do they even justify themselves ?!?!?), I'd take this any day.

truffle fries were v nice and fragrant but portion v small :( lime slushie was good!

vv juicy and tasty burgers but also vv oily so can get slightly messy. they have a burger w a slab of butter in it as one of their specialties but i didn’t think the butter added much to the burger so i prefer their normal burgers
