Decided to drop by to try out their prawn noodles! As expected, it exceeded expectations! There was alot of depth in the flavours of the prawn soup! The hokkien mee had this slight “char” or “wok” taste as it was served in a claypot, really nice HAHAHAH

We also added the har cheong gai and the ngoh hiang! It complements really well with noodles we ordered! Both were fried to perfection and for the ngoh hiang, there was alot of variety from fishcakes, tofu, ngoh hiang, youtiao and prawn cracker!

pleaant experience, will drop by again!

Loved the deep umami of the prawn soup, especially with it served bubbling in a claypot.
The noodles had a great bite, pork ribs were tender, and the Ngoh Hiang was perfectly crisp.
Though not the most central spot, the food made it well worth the journey.

This has got to be one of the most unique prawn noodles I had! Packed full of pork slices, and being served in a claypot really changed the texture of the noodles- it was a refreshing experience.

Was in the area yesterday and decided to visit Zhup Zhup with my partner for dinner! Everything looked so delicious that we over-ordered! Hahaha.

I got a DIY prawn noodles bowl where I was given a choice to select the type of noodles, spicy or non-spicy, soup or dry, and even my choice of toppings! I chose yellow noodles and soup, accompanied by pork shabu and clams!

The broth was very thick and strong, yet light on the palate! I really enjoyed it. We also got Har Chiong Gai (Prawn Paste Chicken) and some ngoh hiang! Everything was seasoned and fried well!

Really enjoyed my meal here. Will definitely be back for more dinners!!

Got the DIY dry spicy noodles with prawns and pork ribs and I loved it. The soup was packed with prawn flavour and it being served in a claypot kept it warm throughout the meal. The har cheong gai wings were super addictive and it was the best I’ve had.
Ngoh hiang platter had lots of variety, and the prawn cracker + tofu stayed crispy!

service was pretty good, with good vibes from the staff! the staff took the effort to seat us at a spot that was more cooling, and also told us about the complimentary ice cream 😋 they were also enthusiastic in sharing with us about the ingredients they used in their cooking.

we had the Ginseng Black Chicken Soup and Cordyceps Chicken Soup, both soups tasted amazing, and I could tell that the broth was cooked for hours. chicken was so soft and cooked so well that I enjoyed every bite. herbs in both soups were PACKED.

for the sides, we had the signature jade tofu and aged preserved radish omelette. both were cooked well and i especially enjoyed the jade tofu. will definitely be one of the places i would return to!

[Geylang, Singapore 🇸🇬]

Recently visited this Teochew Porridge stall at Lorong 37 Geylang. The spread of dishes available was wide. Besides the usual traditional items such as braised duck, mei cai kou rou, steamed fish, steamed meat patty, there also interesting dishes such as crispy fried smelt fish ( also known as 美人鱼) , stir fried pig ear, and marinated cockles.

Shared among the 4 of us, we tried the following
Braised Duck - thinly sliced, super tender and well braised
Braised Pig’s Intestines - Very tender and well braised
Steamed Fish Tail - very chunky and fresh
Stirred Fried Pig’s Ear - love the crunchy texture
Hae Bee Hiam 虾米香 (Spicy Dried Shrimps Sambal) - Moist and very fine texture
Sweet and Sour Pork
Handmade Fishcake
Braised Cabbage
Stirred Fried Spinach
Accompanied with plain porridge

Absolutely loved our dining experience at Tan Ser Seng Herbal Soup! We ordered their famous turtle soup and herbal chicken soup—both were incredibly flavorful, rich, and nourishing. You can really taste the effort and quality in every bowl.

We also tried three of their recommended side dishes, and each one was delicious and well-prepared. Perfect accompaniments to the soups!

As a bonus, they offer free-flow ice cream, which was such a fun and refreshing treat to end the meal.

Authentic herbal soup to nourish our body. Complete it with delicious yam rice, handmade prawn roll, signature Jade tofu. Food taste just right, not salty nor sweet. Best healthy meal for the day.

ordered the chicken soup (1 white, 1 black), and very much enjoyed both. the soups were rich and flavourful, with a strong herbal kick. they rly didn't skimp on the herbs haha. also tried 2 sides, the omelette with cai po and jade tofu. as someone who doesnt especially like tofu, I was pleasantly surprised with how the tofu dish turned out. i also believe the waiter said the raddish and tofus were all made in house.
the service was fast and pleasant, was nice to see that the employees actually seemed like they enjoyed working there, which is rare to see. oh and also, they had free icecream! would go back again to try their other soups

I had a wonderful dining experience at Tan Ser Seng Herbal Restaurant! This place is a true gem for anyone who appreciates traditional Chinese herbal cuisine, especially their signature herbal turtle soup and chicken soup. The flavors are rich, authentic, and deeply nourishing—clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients.

The staff were warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain the health benefits of each dish. The ambiance of the restaurant is calm and comforting, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a hearty, wholesome meal.

Whether you’re a regular lover of herbal soups or trying it for the first time, I highly recommend this place. It’s clear they’ve preserved a long-standing tradition and serve each bowl with pride. I’ll definitely be returning soon!
